Time is a created thing
“Time is a created thing. To say ‘I don’t have time’ is to say ‘I don’t want to.” Lao Tzu
Generally speaking, human action reflects priorities. We do what we want to. That is one of the wonderful things that separates us from woodland creatures who act on instinct.
That means we have significant opportunity to bring positive change to our world and the World at large.
The next time you tell your loved one you don’t have time to do something important to them or to you, replace “I don’t have time” with “I don’t want to.” Be honest, admit it.
You say: Honey, I don’t have time to go on a walk with you because I have to work.
You mean: Honey, I don’t want to go on a walk with you because right now my work is more important. Its not really more important than you, but I’m more insecure about my standing at work than I am in my standing with you. Therefore, work is more important.
See how that works? Try it.
